Classically trained in anthropology, archaeology and ancient history, I have augmented my lifelong passion for art and design with study in creative industries at QUT.
Building on a facination with Celtic art and culture I have been recently been researching and recreating authentic medieval Costrels using traditional methods and materials. Made from vegetable tanned leather, Linen thread and sealed with Hunchy bee’s wax each bottle has been hand sewn and tooled with original Celtic designs. Each bottle takes several days to tool, form and stitch with each design individualy tailored to its layout. I have also been making unique leather bags and satchels and can produce both costrels and bags to custom specifications.
As well as producing leather ware I have been working in wood to produce small sculptures with the ultimate goal of producing netsuke.
This website represents a small selection of my use of pencil, ink, vector and rasta artistic practice.
